Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has been hammered for his two mistakes against Grimsby Town which gifted the League 2 side a a 2-0 lead at the midway stage of their Carabao Cup second round clash.
The Cameroonian shot stopper returned to the starting XI for the first time this season having struggled with an injury in pre-season amid ongoing speculation around his Old Trafford future.
The United goalkeeper has struggled for form since arriving from Inter Milan and his display at Blundell Park will do him no favours in trying to win Ruben Amorim's trust.
The Mariners were the better of the two sides in the opening 45 minutes and took the lead in the 22nd minute when Charles Vernam fired home past Onana, with the United goalkeeper slow to react at his near post and he should have done better.
The hosts then doubled their lead following another mistake from the 29-year-old. Grimsby lofted in a rather straightforward ball into the area from a corner with Onana rushing off his line, flapping at the ball but missing it entirely.

The ball dropped to Tyrell Warren who bundled the ball over the line with the United goalkeeper left in a heap on the floor.
Speaking on co-comms, Sky Sports pundit Alan Smith said: "You can't believe the space Grimsby are getting at the moment. United are at sixes and sevens at the moment!
"It's car crash TV as far as United and Onana are concerned. Never looked like climbing or getting two fists on this!
"If you decide to come. You have to get it as a goalkeeper. He was all over the place Onana. It always transmits to your defenders if your goalkeeper is a nervous wreck."
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Chris Sutton said: "Incredible. Absolutely incredible The ball is whipped in from the left hand side and Onana was flapping and he misses it completely. He's got to get it and he doesn't."
