Browns replacing veteran quarterback

The Cleveland Browns have had a chaotic offseason at the quarterback position. Cleveland opened training camp with four quarterbacks: veterans Kenny Pickett and Joe Flacco, as well as rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Then, after the group was assaulted by injuries throughout camp, a fifth was added in Tyler Huntley. Injuries continued to impact the quarterbacks, as well as a media storm that accompanied Sanders wherever he went.

Joe Flacco was eventually named the starter, and Huntley was cut, leaving four quarterbacks in the room again. The Browns were then insistent on carrying four arms on their active roster throughout the season.

However, Cleveland traded Pickett to the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this week. Shockingly, Cleveland already has Pickett’s replacement, according to one prominent league insider.

“Quarterback Bailey Zappe is signing with the#Browns, per source. Most likely practice squad. Joins Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders in the QB room,” reported ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Wednesday.

Fans reacted to the signing on soical media.

“Lmao they’re just signing any QB with a pulse this off season,” one fan wrote on Twitter.

“Browns feel like that one hoarder on fantasy teams that still end up 1-16,” someone else added.

“Browns out here just actively playing around. They’ll never have nice things,” another fan added.

It’ll be interesting to see where Zappe falls on the depth chart.
