Nottingham Forest are close to having a truly impressive-looking squad, with progress now being made to solve one of the final pieces of Nuno Espírito Santo’s puzzle.
After Espírito Santo raised concerns about the Forest squad, the recruitment team have worked at speed to add more quality for Nuno to exploit.
The attack was prioritised first, with Arnaud Kalimuendo joining Forest to play centrally and English pair Omari Hutchinson and James McAtee in the supporting roles.
Douglas Luiz arrived at the City Ground as a high-profile midfield addition, but Nuno may be most relieved by the advancing deal to solve another of his more pressing concerns.

Nottingham Forest progress in Victor Kristiansen hunt
Nuno has been desperate to add full-backs throughout the summer, with no true back-ups available for the starting duo of Neco Williams and Ola Aina.
Signing a second-choice player is no easy task, though, but Forest’s interest in Victor Kristiansen from Leicester City looks to be one that could solve the problem on the left at least.
According to talkSPORT’s Alex Crook, Forest are now making progress in talks to sign Kristiansen, who is currently out injured at Leicester and therefore has yet to make an appearance in the Championship this season.

The 22-year-old Dane didn’t exactly have the best time in the Premier League last season, but he could benefit from Espírito Santo’s defensive strengths to become a reliable option on the left.
However, Kristiansen may not simply settle for Williams’ back-up, with his ambitions clear should a move to the City Ground materialise.

According to Ben Jacobs: “The Denmark international is keen to move back to the Premier League and in doing so boost his chances of World Cup selection.”
Of course, Nuno isn’t exactly going to swap out Williams for Kristiansen, but Reds fans will be encouraged to hear that the Leicester man remains ambitious after coming under fire for his displays in the 24/25 campaign.
He may not arrive with the best track record in the Premier League, then, but Kristiansen’s drive to improve may make him a perfect choice at left-back.
