Leeds agree another exit after Sam Greenwood, 'total agreement' in place tonight - journalist

Leeds United have finally sanctioned their first senior sale since the summer window opened in the form of Sam Greenwood, and now another is expected to leave Leeds for good this week.

Hands up if you predicted Sam Greenwood joining Polish top-tier side Pogon? No, us neither. The former Sunderland and Arsenal academy product has agreed a £3.5m move and will wear the no.90 shirt.

Greenwood becomes the club’s first sale of the summer, though Rasmus Kristensen’s move to Eintracht Frankfurt is on this year’s books even if his £7.7m move to the German club was confirmed in April.

Leeds have also sold U21 defender Diogo Monteiro to Arouca, but in terms of permanent sales from the senior squad, Greenwood is the first. But in quick succession, another senior player is now set to leave.

‘Total agreement’ for Isaac Schmidt to join Werder Bremen

Isaac Schmidt’s move to Werder Bremen has been a long time coming. But Daniel Farke delayed a move until a full-back was signed. James Justin joined, and that saw Leeds close in on the £3m sale of Schmidt.

However, a move to Werder looked to be in limbo for Schmidt, with Max Wober’s side signing Yukinara Sugawara from Southampton. But with Wober injured, Werder have decided to bring in Schmidt as well.

According to German reporter Patrick Berger, Leeds and Werder have ‘total agreement’ over a loan deal for the Switzerland international with a permanent clause worth between £2.5m and £3.5m in place.

He said: “Total agreement between Werder Bremen and Leeds United for the transfer of Isaac Schmidt. It’s gonna be a loan deal with a €3–4m option to buy. He is expected to arrive in Germany tomorrow.”
