Arne Slot’s Liverpool squad has already undergone a significant number of changes this summer.

High-profile departures include Trent Alexander-Arnold, Caoimhin Kelleher, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Jarell Quansah, while Nat Phillips has also left.

Goalkeepers Vitezslav Jaros and Harvey Davies have both gone out on loan.

Replacements have been brought in at a considerable cost.

Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, and Hugo Ekitike have all joined the Reds, with further signings expected before the window closes.

The changes at Anfield have not been limited to players.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has taken up the role of Slot’s assistant, replacing John Heitinga, who moved to Ajax earlier this summer.

Meanwhile, the club also announced the appointment of Xavi Valero as the new lead goalkeeper coach.

Valero previously worked at Liverpool during Rafael Benitez’s tenure.

Liverpool have strengthened Arne Slot’s backroom team by appointing Luiz Fernando Iubel as their new individual development lead coach, according to The Athletic.

The Brazilian has stepped down as assistant coach of Atletico Mineiro and will join Liverpool on September 1 after receiving a work permit.

Luiz Fernando Iubel, who has extensive experience developing young talent at Brazilian clubs like Cuiaba and Atletico Mineiro, will work across Liverpool’s first-team, under-21s, under-18s, and loaned players.

He will also support their progression to the senior squad.

Fernando Iubel will help guide prospects such as Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni.

Fluent in Portuguese and English, with some Spanish and German, Iubel holds the CONMEBOL Pro Licence, UEFA A Licence, and UEFA A Elite Youth Licence.

Players he has developed who moved to Europe include Igor Paixao, Igor Jesus, Yan Couto, and Abner Vinicius.

Iubel’s arrival will see Aaron Briggs transition to Liverpool’s first-team set-piece coach.

Briggs has served as the club’s individual development coach since July 2024.
