Manchester United have had a torrid couple of seasons in the Premier League, firstly under Erik ten Hag and later under Ruben Amorim. They are keen to right the wrongs this season and put up a competitive show with a new-look squad.

One position that has really troubled Man Utd in the past couple of years is the goalkeeping department. It was at that time that the Red Devils signed Andre Onana to replace legendary shot-stopper David de Gea.

However, the Cameroonian international has struggled to live up to the reputation of his predecessor. Even individually, he has been nowhere close to the level he showed during his time at Inter Milan in their Champions League final run.

Amorim has sent a very strong message by starting Altay Bayindir in the first couple of games of the Premier League season. However, a new signing might be on the cards. Now, as per the [Telegraph](https://www.pressreader.com/uk/the-daily-telegraph-sport/20250827/page/3), Man Utd are preparing to agree terms with Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The 23-year-old Belgian has been continually linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer. The player is valued at around £21.6m-£26m which is a very decent fee that Man Utd will have to pay to bring him in.

Lammens is the perfect modern-day goalkeeper. He is very good at playing with the ball at his feet but he also is a reliable shot-stopper. His potential ceiling in the game is very high, should the development continue as expected.

The report mentions that work is still to be done on the Lammens deal. However, Man Utd should go all out to try and make this happen. He would be an excellent reinforcement who can potentially be better than Onana or Bayindir. The next few days will provide a definitive answer on this transfer saga.
