The San Francisco 49ers’ wide receiver room continues to change as their 2025 season debut is around the corner.
According to multiple reports, the 49ers have now signed veteran WR Marquez Valdes-Scantling to a one-year deal after Seattle released him.
Valdes-Scantling tallied 385 yards and four touchdowns on 35 targets in 2024. The former 5th round pick played 14 games, six with Buffalo and eight as a member of the Saints.

After signing a one-year, $4-million deal with the Seahawks this offseason, San Francisco’s NFC West division rival waived the receiver on Tuesday. The Niners picked him up on Wednesday.
Ricky Pearsall and newly signed Skyy Moore are the only other wide receivers currently healthy on their roster.
Demarcus Robinson was suspended for the first three games.
Jauan Jennings, Jordan Watkins, and Jacob Cowing are all dealing with injuries.
The former two could still be available for week one, but adding Valdes-Scantling helps shore up an area where general manager John Lynch was in desperate need of depth.
