Leeds United fans were riding high after their first Premier League game of the season. They surprised Everton on the opening day, shocking them with a 1-0 win at Elland Road.
A penalty from Lukas Nmecha decided it, but the performance gave the team confidence going into their next game. They faced a tough test in Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side. Leeds did not have it easy in their first away game of the season, losing 5-0 to the gunners. The team were punished for their mistakes, showing the difference at Premier League level.

Gabby Agbonlahor gives Leeds United verdict

Since Tuesday, the atmosphere surrounding the club has been very negative. Many Leeds fans are already blasting the team and the coach for the past two results. Daniel Farke has acknowledged the result, and is confident the team can bounce back against Newcastle.
One person who was not surprised about the result was Gabby Agbonlahor. According to him, the result against Sheffield Wednesday is a sign of things to come – he tips Leeds for relegation this season.
“I watched the Leeds game against Arsenal and I thought they were very poor. I know it’s Arsenal, and you can’t look at those sorts of games. But I think all over the pitch — defensively, I’m not sure about the goalkeeper, attacking-wise — I think Leeds will definitely go back down.”
Too early to judge Leeds
We are just three games into the season, and the transfer window is yet to close. There is no clear sign that the Whites are so bad enough on the pitch to be relegated. Leeds have done well in all three games, but the finishing has let the team down time and time again.
The club could be set to address this before the window closes, with reports that an attacker or two could be added to the squad. But based on the performance against Everton alone, there is a lot of hope for Leeds this season.
