Chelsea’s pursuit of former PSG standout Xavi Simons remains stalled. The Blues have yet to move players with no future at Stamford Bridge, which is slowing any potential deal for the 22-year-old. As a result, hat hesitation has created an opening for Tottenham Hotspur.
According totransfer insider Fabrizio Romano, RB Leipzig have accepted an €80 million offer for Simons, with €55 million payable upfront. Simons is under contract with Leipzigthrough June 2027, and PSG included a sell-on clause to secure a share of any future transfer.
That approach has already paid off.Adam Crafton of The Athletic highlighted that PSG earned €17 million (£15 million) from Hugo Ekitiké’s recent move to Liverpool thanks to a similar clause.
