The big boys arrive in the third round of the Carabao Cup but they won't come up against Manchester United after Grimsby Town pulled off one of the biggest upsets in the competition's history.
The Red Devils, who won the cup in 2023, were embarrassed by the League Two minnows who marched into the third round. The Mariners will face Sheffield Wednesday, who knocked Leeds United out on Tuesday, in the next round after their historic 12-11 win on penalties following a 2-2 draw over 90 minutes.
Last season's Carabao Cup winners, Newcastle United, have been handed a clash against Bradford City to kick off the defence of their crown. Arne Slot's Premier League champions meet Championship outfit Southampton after losing 2-1 to Eddie Howe's Magpies in the previous campaign's final.

Newcastle celebrate EFL Cup
The Premier League's European contingent was handed byes into the third round, which also included Manchester City, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Nottingham Forest, and Aston Villa. There will also be a continuation of last year's competition, which will see round three fixtures take place over two weeks to align with the Champions League and Europa League schedules.
This means clubs participating in the Champions League or Europa League can't meet one another in this round. But that doesn't mean there aren't some tasty ties to look forward to.
