TheSeattle Seahawks signed 17 players to the practice squad on Wednesday and these are their names:

Derion Kendrick is a risky pickup
In addition to these moves, the Seahawks claimed cornerback Derion Kendrick off waivers and released Shaquill Griffin in order to make room on the roster for him. Griffin could be back on the practice squad within a matter of days unless another NFL team wants him to be on their 53-man roster.
Swapping out Griffin for Kendrick can only be Seattle’s intention to swap out a borderline starter for a player who just turned 25 on Sunday. Although Kendrick’s career with the Rams had also made him a borderline starter —borderline rostered player given that he was released on Tuesday - obviously Mike Macdonald likes the idea of picking up a former Clemson/Georgia athlete who comes on the cheap because he missed all of last season with a torn ACL.
The silver lining to that injury is that it happened last July 25th, so 13 months ago, and in theory that means he should be fully recovered by now.
The downside to signing Kendrick is that I’ve watched every Rams game he’s ever played in and he was often the “black sheep” of L.A.’s defense. When the opposing team desperately needed to make a play, they targeted Kendrick and often with favorable results.
In his most recent season, Kendrick had 5 defensive pass interference penalties, two 15-yard facemasks, a horse collar tackle, an Unnecessary Roughness, Illegal use of hands to the face, and a flag for defensive holding. That’s 11 penalties for a cornerback who doesn’t play full time and he also gives up touchdowns.
All I can say is that Macdonald must have confidence in Josh Jobe as the other outside corner in nickel and dime because he’s risking the loss of Griffin to add a cornerback who at best needs time to be developed into a useable player on Sundays.

Practice Squad Notes
At the end of the day, teams weren’t that interested in Seattle’s cut players. None of them were willing to cut a player to make room for Pili or Martinez or O’Connell.
I projected a practice squad on Monday and five of those guys made the roster! Maybe just a good sign for you players out there if I project you for the practice squad, you could be on your way to better things. Of the other 12, seven are on the practice squad. Then I guess a “surprise” would be Anthony Tyus III, giving the Seahawks a total of six running backs on the over 70-player team.
Which surprises stand out to you?
There are rumors of the Seahawks having added another player, but I do not report sources unless it comes from a reputable person and the team just reported 17 players themselves so I’m sticking with that. I probably won’t update you if a change is made to the practice squad, at least not with a fully-dedicated newsletter about it, but I’m betting that many of you are happy with this group as it stands.
