Quarterback Dillon Gabriel makes Cleveland Browns roster

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A former Miliani quarterback has made the [53-man roster for the Cleveland Browns](https://www.clevelandbrowns.com/news/browns-announce-initial-53-man-roster-heading-into-2025-season).

On Tuesday, Dillon Gabriel was named the team’s second-string QB, backing up veteran starter Joe Flacco.

Gabriel played for the University of Oregon and was drafted by the Browns in the third round of the 2025 NFL Draft with pick 94.

Cleveland will have three active quarterbacks on the depth chart, along with fellow rookie QB Shedeur Sanders, who is listed as QB3.

Gabriel is one of 13 Hawaii-born players on active NFL rosters.

Also in his rookie year is [Waimanalo native and first-round pick Tetairoa McMillan](https://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/2025/04/25/waimanalo-native-mcmillan-selected-8th-overall-nfl-draft/).

The Browns finished the NFL preseason with a 3-0 record, and are set to face off against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Sept. 7.
