Bournemouth conceded goals in each half to fall to defeat, as they struggled to break down a Bees side that was happy to sit deep and soak up the Cherries pressure.
This came after Iraola’s side looked to struggle to kill the game off on Saturday as they beat Wolves 1-0, despite having a man advantage for much of the second half.
Match report:
Asked about how he goes about fixing the Cherries’ issues against low blocks, Iraola told the Daily Echo: “I finished the other day very happy how we moved the ball against Wolves.
“First half we had even more possession, I think, and we moved the ball very, very well, we arrived very well.
(Image: Richard Crease) “Even in the second half that we didn't finish with the second goal, I think we had the ball and we didn't give them because we were winning, we didn't give them any real chances in the second half.
“So for me it was a progression. But definitely today has been more difficult. I think the first goal, little bit, pushed the game very difficult for us because it's what they wanted.
“They were straight away very low block. It's a team that when they defend low, we could see that the other day against Villa, they even were lower than today and they didn't concede. And it becomes difficult.
“We hit the post in the first half. You need a rebound. We had some set plays, Hilly a couple of headers, high. You need this kind of thing like they've done it with the set piece, but we haven't been able.”
The two goals saw Brentford punish errors at the back from the Cherries, with the defence still gelling together after mistakes cost them goals at Liverpool on the opening day, too.

“So basically they've been very clinical. It comes from mistakes from our side.
“We don't follow the second phase in the set piece properly and in the second goal we lose our ball, that you cannot lose because otherwise you leave it two against two with a lot of space.
“And after the rebound they've been lucky also to finish it, but they are coming from mistakes from our side.”
