All the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Chelsea as they prepare to face Fulham.
Chelsea are back in action on Saturday when they take on West London rivals Fulham in what will be a firm test following a comfortable win over West Ham. Marco Silva’s men have a habit of frustrating big opponents, and Enzo Maresca will have to plan a way past that.
In the meantime, the work continues in the transfer market with time running out ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline. Here we round up all the latest news and transfer rumours surrounding Stamford Bridge.
Lopez interest
Chelsea have reportedly held talks over a possible move for Barcelona midfielder Fermin Lopez. The 22-year-old is reportedly considering his options this summer to get more regular starts.
Given his age, Lopez has done well to rack up 60 league appearances for Barca, but he is not a regular starter, and that is leading him to consider an exit. TBR claim Chelsea have explored a possible move, and it’s claimed Lopez could be interested in a move to Stamford Bridge.
Jackson latest
“Discussions about formula of the deal as #CFC has one international loan spot left and it has to include obligation to buy. Nothing done so far player/club side; but Bayern keep insisting.”
The issue for Chelsea is that they want money upfront if they are going to let Jackson ;eave, an important factor given they need to bring in money to spend.
Redknapp’s Neto praise
Jamie Redknapp has been praising Pedro Neto after a bright performance from the Portugal international against West Ham. He told Sky Sports: “I watched him playing again today and even at the weekend against Crystal Palace, just showing glimpses. Using his body. He was fantastic. It looks like he’s really comfortable in his own skin at the minute.”
Maresca predicted a big season for Neto. He said during the Club World Cup: “Pedro is a very good person, very professional, and works hard every day. Today he played a very good game and since he arrived with us, he has been very good. Next season, he is probably going to be even better in terms of goals and assists, but overall, we are very happy with Pedro.”
