'I'm so glad': Sam Allardyce buzzing over transfer decision Man City have made this summer

Sam Allardyce has expressed his happiness and relief at a transfer decision Manchester City have made this summer.

The Citizens have had a busy summer in the market, bringing in a host of top talents including Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, Rayan Ait-Nouri and James Trafford.

Manchester City have also let a number of players depart the Etihad Stadium, with more expected to leave before transfer deadline day on Monday.

Sam Allardyce, speaking on the No Tippy Tappy Football podcast alongside Man City presenter and fan Natalie Pike, said he was “so glad” about one of the decisions made by the club.

The deal reportedly includes an option for Everton – who have just moved into their new stadium – to buy Grealish for £50million.

Allardyce believes the deal was “the right thing to do” for both Man City and Grealish, and backed the player to be a regular for the Toffees when fit.

“I’m so glad that he got away from Manchester City in the end, because it clearly needed to happen,” said Allardyce.

“And I think that, for Manchester City and for him, it’s the right thing to do, and I think that he’ll play most weeks if he’s fit.”

Allardyce previously said he can see nothing but success for Grealish at Everton.

What Manchester City insiders said about Jack Grealish

Grealish found himself on the fringes of the City first-team squad last season and, as such, the best decision was for him to leave, as he has done.

However, City insiders continue to speak fondly of Grealish, as do those who worked with him at Aston Villa, according to Everton manager David Moyes.

The Toffees boss recently said in an interview that “everyone who speaks about him loves Jack”, both as a player and as a person.

Grealish has started well at Everton, so hopefully he can keep it up and win a new set of fans over.
