Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reedhad not practiced with the team for multiple weeks due to anapparent lower-body injury, but he’s finally returned to the field on Wednesday. However, it still appears that he’s not out of the woods yet. According to reporter Jason Wilde, Reed’s foot issue is expected to persist in the 2025 NFL season.

While it’s good news for the Packers that Reed has resumed practicing with the team, his outlook remains a question, given the status of his foot. At the moment, there aredoubts on his availability right from the start of the 2025 campaign, with the Packers scheduled to open their season on Sept. 7 in a game against the Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
Reed is considered among the chief weapons downfield by quarterback Jordan Love. After all, Reed led the Packers in 2024 with 857 receiving yards to go with six touchdowns on 55 receptions and 77 targets. He is a valuable member of Green Bay’s attack. He had 16.1 percent of the team’s target share in 2024 and posted a 73.3 percent catch rate in the same season, putting him in a high percentile spot in terms of that star in the league.
If Reed gets ultimately ruled out for the Lions game, the likes of rookie Matthew Golden, Romeo Doubs and even tight end Tucker Kraft could see a bigger role in Green Bay’s passing attack.
