West Ham look set to announce their latest new recruit today after something of a scare yesterday.
Reports began circulating late in the afternoon that Monaco’s Soungoutou Magassa was having second thoughts about joining the Hammers following interest from Frankfurt.
The story quickly gathered momentum, with fans understandably fearing West Ham were about to botch yet another transfer. After all, with failed attempts to land the likes of Jacob Ramsey already wasting valuable recruitment time, many supporters have come to expect complications.

But now, most sources are aligning with what Claret & Hugh reported last night — the Magassa deal is going ahead. Panic set in because the versatile Frenchman took longer to sign than expected, which inevitably fuelled conspiracy theories.
As we revealed yesterday, however, the delay was caused by a technical issue during his medical, meaning the process had to be restarted.
With that now resolved, Magassa’s move should be completed — and fans will be hoping it’s the first of several arrivals as the clock ticks down on the transfer window.
