Enzo Maresca must change the position of Chelsea goalscorer for West London derby vs Fulham - opinion

Chelsea got their new Premier League season underway properly at the second time of asking when they defeated West Ham 5-1 last week, but we think there must be changes made for the West London derby against Fulham.

Enzo Maresca will have been delighted by the three points at the London Stadium, however he will have been equally thrilled to see his team star without their main man in attack.

Cole Palmer was ruled out in the warmup, meaning Estevao Willian was handed his first Premier League start in circumstances he would not have been expecting.

The Brazil international was very impressive in attack, with Liam Delap and Joao Pedro also playing well in a free-flowing Chelsea attack.

Enzo Maresca must change Pedro Neto’s position for Chelsea vs Fulham

Arguably the star of the show though was Pedro Neto, who found the net and excelled in the less familiar left-wing position.

The Portugal international should definitely be handed a start against Fulham, however he may need to swap wings to set up best against the opposition at hand.

Antonee Robinson poses a serious threat to Chelsea down their right, and will look to double up with the winger ahead of him as often as possible to isolate a likely returning Reece James.

There will be a significant job on the hands of whoever has to track him back, and there must be someone who has experience doing this rather than Estevao, leaving Neto the obvious choice.

Neto wing swap sees new attacker start vs Fulham

If Neto moves over to the right, it can be expected that Estevao will move to the bench, due to Pedro surely being the one who replaces Palmer in the Number 10 role.

This would open up a spot on the left of attack, given a chance at a second Chelsea start to Jamie Gittens after his move from Borussia Dortmund.

Gittens failed to make a real impact against Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, however looked far more comfortable in his cameo appearance against the Hammers.

With Neto perhaps having to do a bit more defensive work against Fulham, there could be more of a focus on Gittens in the final third to create a match-winning moment.
