Youssef Chermiti looks set to leave Everton before the transfer window closes.

Given all the attacking quality that has arrived on Merseyside this summer, it is no wonder that Chermiti’s chances of breaking into David Moyes’ starting XI have decreased even further.

Beto and Thierno Barry are currently ahead of the 21-year-old in the pecking order to lead the line for Everton.

Moyes’ latest revelation regarding Chermiti, however, suggests that the striker’s immediate future may not involve playing for the Toffees.

David Moyes makes Yousef Chermiti revelation as exit talks emerge

Everton beat Mansfield Town 2-0 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday night to ensure the Blues made it back-to-back wins in response to their controversial loss against Leeds.

MORE TOFFEES STORIES

Typically, this would be the type of fixture that you would expect Chermiti to get some minutes in, but this was not the case, with the forward being left out of the Everton squad.

Moyes confirmed after the game this was because there may be a possibility that Chermiti could be on the move, with a potential opportunity for him to play more regularly elsewhere.

Africa Foot reported on 26 August that newly promoted La Liga outfit Elche CF and Scottish giants Rangers are interested in the youngster.

Several Championship clubs are also said to be interested.

And Everton’s preference is that Chermiti would move on loan to the second tier to aid his development.

Loaning out Youseff Chermiti makes perfect sense

Everton have been criticised this transfer window for the lack of money they have brought in from player sales.

With most of Everton’s departures being players leaving on free transfers, Chermiti has a chance to buck this trend in the future.

If the towering forward can develop in the Championship for a season, then he could return to the Hill Dickinson Stadium ready for first-team football.

Alternatively, if this is not the case, the experience a loan move would have provided him will only have increased his potential sell-on value, if Moyes feels that Chermiti’s permanent future lies elsewhere.
