Two days ago, we covered claims from Italy that Napoli have reached an agreement with Manchester United and Rasmus Højlund to sign him on loan with a conditional obligation.
Later that day, journalist Orazio Accomando reported Napoli will have a meeting with the Manchester United player’s entourage to sort out the final details.
Accomando now took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report the two clubs are close to finalising last details of the deal.
Alfredo Pedullà reports Thursday is the ‘key day’ in the Naples club’s operation to sign the striker.
After having discussions with the Red Devils on Wednesday, Napoli want to finalise the transfer today. Pedullà claims Napoli ‘intent to satisfy’ Manchester United on the formula needed to exercise the purchase obligation.
He hasn’t explained as to what those conditions are. Earlier claims said it’s linked to the 22-year-old’s appearances and goals and Napoli qualifying for the Champions League.
Gianluca Di Marzio provides more on this and he now reports Manchester United and Napoli will have further contact today.
The operation is for the loan deal with an obligation to buy linked only to the Champions League qualification and not to Højlund’s appearances.
If the two clubs were to reach the final agreement, Napoli will work to sign Højlund soon so that he’s available for Saturday’s clash against Cagliari.
The Denmark international is ready to travel and is ‘only waiting for approval’ from Manchester United. He’ll receive it once Antonio Conte’s side find a final agreement with the Premier League club.
There are last details that need sorting before Højlund travels to Italy to complete Napoli move.
