Sunderland stance is making club wobble – Move can now depend on Nottingham Forest

On Wednesday, Corriere dello Sport reported Sunderland were running out of time to sign Bologna’s Jhon Lucumi. Their move for the defender can now be linked with Nottingham Forest’s Morato.

Il Resto del Carlino report today that the Black Cats’ have made a new approach for the Colombian.

Sunderland are offering €28m plus €2m in bonuses and a 10-20 percent future resale value.

While Bologna have rejected this bid, they are now wobbling and have made it clear to the 27-year-old that he will be sold if an able replacement is found for him.

As a result, work is underway at Bologna to sign a new centre-back and contact has been made for Nottingham Forest’s Morato.

The Rossoblu have a good relationship with the Tricky Trees and this is likely to help a move.

As of now, Nottingham Forest value the defender at €10m to €12m.

The same information has also been provided by today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that an enquiry has been made for 24-year-old centre-back already.

Everything suggests that if Nottingham Forest open up to Morato’s sale quickly, Sunderland will be able to sign Lucumi soon.
