Man Utd were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Grimsby Town on Wednesday night.
Ruben Amorim suggested there will be fresh talks over his future as Manchester United head coach during the forthcoming September international break. United are yet to win a match this season after they were dumped out of the Carabao Cup by Grimsby Town on Wednesday night.
It marked the first time in the club's illustrious history that they have ever been knocked out of a cup competition by fourth-tier opposition, as Amorim reached a new low as United boss just three matches into the new season. Even after being backed by £200 million in the summer window, there were still so many flaws with his United side and questions raised over their tactical approach.
Amorim has just one win from five matches against English opposition in cup competitions and has won just seven of his 29 league matches. It means United have won just eight of their 35 matches against such opposition across all competitions, a record even more alarming in a season when they don't have the distraction of European football.

United will be expected to beat newly-promoted Burnley at home in the Premier League this weekend, and failure to do so could spell the end for Amorim just four matches into the new season.
Amorim previously revealed he considered his position last season, and his latest comments suggest he could do so again during the upcoming international break. After the home clash with Burnley on Saturday, United players will depart for international duty, before they return to face Man City on September 14 and Chelsea on September 20.
Speaking after the Grimsby defeat in midweek, Amorim suggested to ITV Sport that it would be easier to replace him than the entire playing squad. “I think the players spoke really loudly about what they want today," he told ITV Sport. "Something has to change, and you’re not going to change 22 players again. It’s hard to face everything. We move to the next game, then we have time to decide things.”
He added: “I would like to say very smart things and very important things. I have nothing to say. Nothing to say. That is the biggest problem also. To see the same mistakes and nothing to say in this moment. I’m really sorry for our fans. It’s too much sometimes.
“The way we start the game without any intensity, all the idea of the pressure, we were completely lost, and that’s why I think they (the players) spoke really loud (with their actions).”
