Wolves are going back in for a striker target Vitor Pereira loves, sources close to Molineux News understand.

Genk number nine Tolu Arokodare is the latest name linked with a switch to Molineux. Personal terms have been agreed and Wolves are now preparing a bid.

This comes in the midst of uncertainty around Jorgen Strand Larsen’s future, though Wolves have been clear that a striker is needed regardless of the Norwegian’s decision.

If he does go, however, a new face will be needed, and Vitor Pereira is looking at one particular player he tried to sign in the winter window.

Wolves back in for Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto

Sources close to Molineux News say Pereira is still interested in bringing 24-year-old Brazilian striker Yuri Alberto to Wolves.

Alberto was a key part of Pereira’s Corinthians side and the Wolves boss has been vocal about his admiration.

During the winter window, rumours of a potential reunion circulated, but they never came to fruition.

At the start of the summer, the links to Alberto resurfaced. His impressive tally of 31 goals in all competitions last season makes him an attractive option to hopefully back up Strand Larsen, or possibly replace him if Newcastle get their way.

Wolves’ striker links don’t confirm a Jorgen Strand Larsen departure

As exciting as new links are, some Wolves fans won’t be too happy to see such heavy interest in the position, as they cling to the hope of Strand Larsen staying.

But it doesn’t confirm anything. Wolves have been burnt too many times in the window, putting their eggs in one basket and being left back at square one, which is what seems to be happening with Christantus Uche.

That won’t work this week, as time to the deadline winds down.

One striker is needed regardless of what happens in the next week, and having a couple of attractive options lined up is a good thing.
