Chelsea have been pushing to sign Barcelona’s Fermín López late in the summer window.
Barcelona haven’t closed the door on his exit as his sale help them improve their finances, which they need to register their summer signings. The Blues are trying to convince the 22-year-old by offering a lucrative salary.
Earlier today, we covered claims from Spain that Chelsea are waiting until today [deadline given] for him to make a final decision. It was also reported he favours staying at Barca, but the Premier League club are willing to do everything possible to sign him.
If the midfielder were to give his approval, Enzo Maresca’s side will soon make an offer to Barcelona, who are asking for €70m.
El Chiringuito took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to cover the latest from journalist Jose Alvarez Haya.
He claims the La Liga winners have asked the Spain international about Chelsea’s interest, and the latter hasn’t responded to them.
Therefore, Barcelona are increasingly of the belief that Fermín has doubts about staying at the Camp Nou. In other words, they believe he could be on his way to Chelsea in the last week of this window.
For now, this is what Barcelona feel because Fermín hasn’t responded to them. If he has decided to join Chelsea, there’ll be more updates in Spain in the next few hours.
