Christantus Uche makes Wolves decision as journalist shares ‘another twist’

Wolves’ need for an attacker brought them to Getafe’s Christantus Uche, and the transfer has been far from straightforward.

At first, Wolves reached an agreement for the player but Getafe stalled the deal amid interest from other clubs.

Later, Getafe’s manager Jose Bordalas said he wants Uche to stay, with the owner saying he was forced to sell the Nigerian.

On Tuesday night, a journalist said that Uche and his agent were unhappy with the deal, stemming from the role of Jorge Mendes in the move.

Now, another update has come out about Uche to Wolves, adding another twist to this transfer saga.

Christantus Uche to Wolves is ‘scrapped’ as COMO interest returns

Christantus Uche to Wolves looks to be off with Spanish journalist Álvaro Ramos saying the player and his agent have ‘scrapped’ the move.

The report says that Italian club Como have reignited their interest in the player, offering money and attacker Iván Azón as part of the deal.

Wolves are still in the running for Uche, but the situation has now evolved into an ‘open bidding’ war.

It all seemed set for the forward to make the switch to Molineux after Uche didn’t train with Getafe on Tuesday amid uncertainty over his future.

Now, Wolves may have to pay over the £17 million fee they were discussing with the La Liga side if they are still intent on signing him.

Wolves should move on from Christantus Uche as quickly as possible

Wolves do not have time to waste. The Old Gold are desperate for attacking reinforcements, and while this news will be a major blow, they should move on quickly.

Continuing to work on the Uche deal that is now up in the air could be a waste of time with only a few days left of the transfer window.

A move for Tolu Arokodare is progressing, and all focus should be on ensuring this signing is completed and avoiding twists like those in the move for the Getafe attacker.

After that, Vitor Pereira and the board should turn their attention to Uche alternatives, and ensure the squad has enough quality to avoid relegation this season.
