Chelsea agree deal as they target huge double swoop before deadline

Blue boys: Alejandro Garnacho and Fermin Lopez

Chelsea Football Newsletter

Chelsea are in talks to sell Christopher Nkunku to AC Milan in a deal that would help fund their move for Alejandro Garnacho.

The Blues are closing in on the signing of Garnacho from Manchester United for between £35-40million.

Nkunku is reportedly willing to take a pay cut to join Milan, who have agreed a deal worth around £36m with Chelsea.

That transfer fee would cover the majority of the Garnacho deal.

Fermin Lopez has emerged as a late target

They are also close to a deal to send Nicolas Jackson on loan to Bayern Munich with an obligation to buy him next summer.

Manchester United are ready to lower their £50m asking price for Garnacho to allow him to move to Stamford Bridge.

Garnacho and Lopez are viewed as bigger priorities than the RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons, who has emerged as a target for Tottenham.

Tyrique George and Alfie Gilchrist could also leave.

Sterling’s future is not expected to be resolved until the final few days of the window.
