Tino Livramento has opened up about how the Newcastle United players have reacted to the Alexander Isak saga.
Tino Livramento has revealed everyone at Newcastle United is “ignoring” the outside noise regarding Alexander Isak.
Despite the Premier League season being well underway, the Swede is dominating the news coverage around St James’ Park. Isak is continuing to down tools on Tyneside as he tries to force an exit to Liverpool.
Crunch talks were held between Isak and senior members of the Toon hierarchy earlier this week. However, that has not resulted in the situation being resolved and the striker’s future remains uncertain heading into the final days of the window.
Tino Livramento on Newcastle United mood
Isak was absent again as Newcastle lost 3-2 to Liverpool - his preferred destination - on Monday. Speaking after the game, Livramento explained how Eddie Howe has helped the squad shut out the outside noise.
"It doesn't change anything,” Livramento told The Mirror. “The gaffer makes sure that there is no outside influence coming into the dressing room. When I go into training every day, I am going in with my friends. There is a great feel around the club inside right now. We ignore things outside."
Newcastle United’s positive start
Livramento pointed towards the performances rather than the points tally as a reason to stay optimistic. He added: "You look back to the way we started last season, we were getting results and not playing our best. This season we have started really well, we are playing football really well and looking like ourselves off the ball, we have been aggressive.
“We just haven't got the results to match that. I am very proud of the team and the way everyone reacted. I feel almost an excitement to go into training again and be ready for Saturday again."

“The ideal (situation) from everyone is we want clarity,’ Howe said. ‘We want the narrative to change. His (Al-Ruamayyan’s) presence is much appreciated from my perspective. He is the owner, he is the most important person in terms of any decisions we make.”
