MM 8.28: Former Maryland football safety Beau Brade claimed off waivers by New York Giants

Former Maryland football safety Beau Brade was claimed off waivers by the New York Giants, the league officially announced Wednesday.

Brade was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Baltimore Ravens after the 2024 NFL Draft, and was a surprise addition to the team’s 53-man roster. He appeared in 11 games last season, primarily on special teams, and recorded three total tackles.

The safety was a stalwart in Maryland’s defense during his two years as a starter. He played in and started 25 of the Terps’ 26 games across 2022 and 2023, racking up 160 total tackles, three interceptions, three forced fumbles and 11 passes defended over those two seasons. He earned a All-Big Ten honorable mention nod both years.
