Jorgen Strand Larsen's move to Newcastle United takes step closer as player's agent flies to UK

· 28 August 2025, 11:30

**Newcastle United are putting a lot of effort into finding a striker in the last few days of the transfer window.**

The Magpies have been stymied so many times this summer when it comes to landing a centre-forward that they will be focusing all of their efforts on bringing in at least one before the window closes at 7pm on 1st September.

Wolverhampton Wanderers' Jorgen Strand Larsen seems to be the one receiving the most focus right now, as Newcastle have seen two bids rejected this week and a third bid expected to be going in any moment.

There's confidence that a bid of around £60 million could seal the deal, but to make sure, Strand Larsen's agent has flown to the UK to help move things along.

According to [TV2](https://www.tv2.no/sport/fotball/tv-2-erfarer-newcastle-med-nytt-bud-pa-strand-larsen/18034149/) in Norway, Strand Larsen's agent Tore Pedersen has been in the UK since Sunday to help facilitate the deal.

It's understood that Strand Larsen, who only became a Wolves player this summer following a successful loan from Celta Vigo last season, wants the move to Tyneside.

Unlike Mr Alexander Isak and Mr Yoane Wissa, though, Strand Larsen has gone about his business as a Wolves player, even scoring a brace on Tuesday night, sending them through to the third round of the Carabao Cup at the expense of West Ham.

Keith Downie is confident that Newcastle will sign Jorgen Strand Larsen

Keith Downie had reported on Wednesday that he was expecting the Magpies to make a third bid either on Wednesday night or early on Thursday morning, so we're expecting an update soon.

Time is running out, so Wolves will have a big decision to make, especially as they will want to bring in a replacement for Strand Larsen should they allow him to leave.

Downie also believes that if Newcastle signs Strand Larsen and Wissa, it could open the door for Alexander Isak to move to Liverpool and bring this saga to an end.
