Report: Everton player approached by one of the best supported clubs on the planet

Everton striker Youssef Chermiti is in talks to leave the club on a season-long loan deal.

Youssef Chermiti joined Everton in a £15m transfer from Portuguese giants Sporting during the summer of 2023.

Chermiti hasn’t really got going on Merseyside, as he’s failed to score in any of his 24 appearances so far.

Although, the under-21 Portugal international hasn’t been helped by injuries and he is still learning his trade as a young player.

With that said, a good loan move has just cropped up for him ahead of Monday’s transfer deadline.

Chermiti was left out of Everton’s squad last night and Moyes explained that it was due to a potential transfer away from Finch Farm.

Well now, according to the Daily Mail, the 21-year-old looks like he could be on his way to Scottish giants Rangers.

The Gers are in talks to sign Chermiti on a season-long loan deal, with under-fire manager Russell Martin desperate to sign a striker.

Interestingly, Kevin Thelwell leads the recruitment for Rangers, and he was the one who signed Chermiti for Everton a couple of years ago.

Rangers are one of the best-supported clubs in the world (per the BBC), so there will be a lot of pressure on the young forward to deliver, but that could be really important for his development.

Everton may now need to sign another striker

With Chermiti set to leave the club, Moyes will almost certainly be in the market to sign a striker as he’s left with just Thierno Barry and Beto.

Millwall’s Mihailo Ivanovic has been linked to the Toffees and will be allowed to leave the Championship outfit if a £14m bid arrives.

Ivanovic, 20, scored 12 goals in the second tier last season and has been linked with a move to Leicester City in recent weeks.

It’s set to be a busy few days ahead for Moyes and his chiefs, with the club expected to bring in a couple more at least.
