Report Confirms Arsenal Are In‘Talks’About Another Transfer In Addition To Hincapie

Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson could join Crystal Palace before the transfer window closes, according to reports.

English tabloid The Sun claim that “talks” are taking place over the forward joining the Eagles for a fee in the region of £15m.

Ironically, it is believed that some of the £60m+ that the Gunners paid for Eberechi Eze will be put towards signing Nelson before the transfer window closes.

Oliver Glasner’s side have already secured the services of Villarreal’s Yeremy Pino for £26m, as they look to strengthen their midfield following Eze’s departure.

Another London club were favourites to snap up Nelson

For most of the summer, it had been thought that the 25-year-old would return to Fulham. He spent last season on loan at the Cottagers but injuries curtailed his game time.

Despite that, manager Marco Silva was keen to bring him back in and The Sun report that Alex Iwobi has been trying to persuade Nelson to return to Craven Cottage.

However, it seems as if Palace are the ones who have made the most progress in negotiations, having started initial discussions with the player’s representatives.

Arsenal have not exactly been raking in the money

While sporting director Andrea Berta has done a fine job in terms of incomings, the same cannot be said of outgoings.

7 players have left the Emirates over the course of this summer, with only €8m being raised through sales. €5m of that was agreed last year as part of Nuno Tavares’s (initial) loan switch to Lazio.

The likes of Jorginho, Thomas Partey, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney have all left on free transfers, while Karl Hein has moved on loan to Werder Bremen. That means Berta’s only sale so far is Marquinhos’s €3m transfer to Cruzeiro.
