Southampton are set to be busy before the close of the summer transfer window on September 1, with several deals yet to be completed for those joining and leaving the club.
The Saints lost their promising teenager Tyler Dibling earlier in the week as a deal with Everton was finally agreed after a long pursuit from the Toffees to sign the former Southampton prodigy.
It appears Southampton have already signed a replacement for Dibling following his exit, as they agreed a deal to sign Finn Azaz from Middlesbrough for a reported fee that could rise to £15 million.
Will Still may have known for the majority of the summer that Mateus Fernandes was set to leave the club following interest from West Ham, and the deal looks set to be completed; that is despite the Southampton manager claiming the Portuguese midfielder’s absence from their Carabao Cup victory did not indicate a departure.
However, it appears Southampton have already signed his replacement prior to Fernandes’ West Ham deal being announced.
Southampton set to sign Casper Jander
As reported by Sky Germany, Casper Jander is set to undergo a medical today at Southampton to complete a deal for the German Under-21 international.
It has been reported that Southampton will pay £10.5 million plus add-ons for the player previously valued at over €20m for the FC Nuremberg midfielder to bring him in on a permanent deal.

Jander scored three goals and registered nine assists in the 2. Bundesliga last season and was subject to interest from some of the biggest clubs in Germany, including Hoffenheim and Stuttgart.
Miroslav Klose on Casper Jander
The German midfielder has been playing under the World Cup winner Miroslav Klose at FC Nuremberg, with the youthful player being key for the footballing icon.
Klose is a huge fan of Jander and will surely be wishing him the best but would have been hopeful he would have remained to help the club in their Bundesliga 2 campaign.
