Arsenal have been handed a boost in their title push with reports suggesting Bukayo Saka is edging closer to a return from his latest hamstring setback. The 23-year-old winger could be back in contention for the Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest on September 13, 2025, at Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal insider Charles Watts reported that there is “certainly hope” Saka will be fit in time for the Forest game, a development that would provide Mikel Arteta’s side with a major lift ahead of a crucial run of fixtures. The Gunners face reigning champions Manchester City just a week later, in a match already billed as a potential title decider.

Saka limped off during Arsenal’s 5-0 win over Leeds United on August 24 after suffering a left hamstring injury early in the second half. His withdrawal raised concerns given his history with similar issues, including a three-month absence last season. However, club sources have downplayed fears of a lengthy layoff, with optimism growing that Saka could return within three to four weeks.

If that timeline holds, Saka will miss the Liverpool clash on August 31 but could feature against Forest or in Arsenal’s Champions League opener before the showdown with City.

Arteta acknowledged the concern after the Leeds match but stressed that the problem was “not the same hamstring as before.” The upcoming international break is expected to aid Saka’s recovery, with hopes he can resume light training ahead of the Forest fixture.

Arsenal’s reliance on Saka has been evident this season, with the winger’s creativity and goals central to their title charge. His absence will test squad depth, though summer signings Noni Madueke, Viktor Gyokeres and Eberechi Eze offer Arteta options in attack.

The Gunners are also monitoring captain Martin Odegaard, who is managing a shoulder injury but could return after the break. With both players potentially back in action, Arsenal may be close to full strength for their pivotal September fixtures.
