The latest transfer news could finally signal movement for Man Utd in the window.
Chelsea are closing in on a move for Alejandro Garnacho after they sanctioned the sale of Christopher Nkunku in the summer transfer window. Manchester United have yet to sell a player this summer but are hopeful they will receive a fee for Garnacho before deadline day on Monday.
Garnacho was frozen out by Ruben Amorim at the end of last season and told to find a new club this summer. The 21-year-old was not required to return for pre-season training and made it clear he only wanted to move to Stamford Bridge, amid a preference to remain in the Premier League.
United value the youngster at £50 million but are expected to sell him to Chelsea for an initial fee of roughly £35 million before deadline day. The London club always planned to make a late approach for Garnacho in the window in the hope they would be able to capitalise on United's desperation to sell and get him for less than his original price tag.

Although the guaranteed fee might be around £15m lower than United hoped for, they could earn further revenue from the deal through various add-ons and a potential sell-on clause. There are just five days left for a deal to be completed but Chelsea are expected to make progress on a move after they agreed to sell Nkunku to AC Milan.
Taking to social media on Thursday morning, notorious transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano issued his trademark 'here we go' catchphrase to indicate a deal was now in place. It is understood Chelsea will receive roughly £30m for Nkunku, which will be reinvested in a deal for Garnacho.
"Christopher Nkunku to AC Milan, here we go! Deal verbally agreed in principle between the clubs," Romano posted on X. "AC Milan and Chelsea are set to prepare documents today, fee will be in the region of €35m with add-ons. Nkunku said yes to 5 year contract yesterday, as revealed."
Romano then followed the post up with a message that read: "Understand the total package for Christopher Nkunku to AC Milan can reach €42m, add-ons included. Chelsea accept initial fixed fee higher than €35m plus add-ons."
