Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker believes that there is a part of Ederson’s game that is very underrated.
The Manchester City star has been one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League ever since his arrival from Benfica during the summer of 2017, with the 32-year-old’s ability to play with the ball at his feet being the perfect fit for Pep Guardiola’s style of play.
The Brazilian has been on a bit of a decline in recent seasons, but overall, Sam Allardyce thinks Ederson has been underrated by the masses.
That is a view Alisson shares with the former England manager, but specifically regarding one element of the Man City star’s game, which he believes gets overlooked by everybody.

Alisson thinks Ederson is a top goalkeeper
Jamie Carragher thinks Man City missed Ederson against Tottenham, which could be a problem if the 32-year-old leaves the Etihad Stadium over the coming days.
Galatasaray are pushing to sign Ederson before the summer transfer window shuts, and if the Brazilian does call time on his career in England, Alisson believes it is a spell the goalkeeper can be very proud of.

“I think, in a natural way, like, we push each other because we have to fight for the position of the national team. So if he plays good, I have to play even better,” Alisson told Sky Sports when asked about Ederson.
“I admire him a lot for his achievements here in the Premier League. In his career, he won pretty much everything, so many Golden Gloves as well. Everybody talks a lot about his qualities with the feet, but he’s a top goalkeeper as well.”
Ederson has often been described as Guardiola having another midfielder in the Man City goal, and although that makes him stand out, the Brazilian has pulled off some huge saves in the past.
His shot-stopping ability has definitely been overlooked throughout his time at City, and it is something that might only receive appreciation once the 32-year-old is gone.

How Alisson Becker compares to Ederson
For many, Alisson is currently regarded as the best goalkeeper in the world, as the Brazilian has been crucial to the trophies Liverpool have won in recent years.
The Reds star is very different to Ederson as the 32-year-old does not have the ability to play with the ball at his feet like the Manchester City star, but he is incredible at one-on-ones and being a dominant figure in his box.

Alisson has been Brazil’s number one goalkeeper for many years now, which is a clear indication of who their national team coaches think is the better of the two.
Although many may view the Liverpool star as the better goalkeeper, at one point, there was very little between the two Brazilians, which says a lot about how good Ederson has been for Man City.
