Everton are preparing an offer for Benfica midfielder Florentino Luis, and the Portuguese side are expecting one to arrive in the next few hours.
That’s according to Mais Futebol, who say with confidence that Benfica will receive an offer from Everton for Florentino Luis in the next few hours.
They explain that the 26-year-old midfielder has been highly coveted in this market and offers have already arrived from Burnley and Marseille. These were rejected as they were below Benfica’s wishes.
The midfielder has also rejected a €5m per year move to Saudi Arabia. His preference is to play in the Premier League according to Mais Futebol’s information.
Benfica are open to a sale as Luis has fallen down the pecking order following the arrivals of Enzo Barrenechea and Richard Ríos this summer. His current deal expires in 2027, so this the ideal window in which to sell.
Everton have long been credited with an interest in him and were first linked at the end of the January transfer window in 2024.
They made bids for him at that point but didn’t get a deal done and have been linked in every window since. Now Mais Futebol report another bid is incoming, in the next few hours.
