Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick’s girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, is looking own a term that has been thrown in her direction since the two had started dating.
According to TMZ Sports, TCE Rights Management LLC, a company that Hudson manages and is owned by Belichick, filed to own the term “gold digger.” TMZ added that the same company had previously filed for the terms, “All-Belichick Team,” “The Belichick Way,” and “Chapel Bill,” which refers to Belichick’s current role as head coach the University of North Carolina football team.
If the trademark for “gold digger” is granted, it could be used for items to sell such as jewelry.
Hudson, 24, had become a media focal point after an April “CBS Sunday Morning” interview with Belichick, 73, during which she interjected herself into the conversation and prevented Belichick from answering questions about how they met and her role in his business dealings. However, it was disclosed that Hudson only helped deal with personal matters, including his book release media tour.
The concerns about Hudson’s involvement in Belichick’s personal life led many people, including former New England Patriots players, to question whether Belichick was the right person to coach North Carolina. Those concerns were downplayed by the school’s chancellor, Lee Roberts, who said the impact Belichick had made on the program, especially ticket sales, was significant as UNC has sold out their games for the upcoming season.
