Nottingham Forest are looking to sign RB Leipzig’s Lutsharel Geertruida before the window closes on Monday.
Earlier today, Sky Deutschland reported the Reds have already contacted the German club over a move for the right-back. They also stated he’s open to a move as he’s unhappy at Leipzig, who are ready to sell the 25-year-old.
Atalanta have also shown interest and have approached the Bundesliga club to sign him.
Sky Deutschland journalist Philipp Hinze took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report the latest on Nottingham Forest and the Serie A club.
He points out both Nuno Espírito Santo’s side and La Dea are in ongoing negotiations for the Netherlands international.
The defender, who can operate across the back line, joined Leipzig last summer, and has a contract until 2029. According to Hinze, the German side are willing to let him leave and the most realistic option now is a loan deal with an option to buy.
Leipzig want a loan fee and the Dutchman’s salary to be covered by the club that will sign him. This should suit Nottingham Forest, but it’s unclear whether they are in favour of this formula.
