Spanish manager Lopetegui has been out of work since leaving West Ham, where he struggled and was subsequently sacked. It's hardly going to be an exciting appointment for United supporters if they do secure his signature, but it certainly wouldn't be a surprise to see Amorim relieved of his duties in the coming days or weeks.
United desperately need to start showing signs of improvement, and it's far from just Amorim to blame for their disappointing few years. United's recruitment has been inconsistent, and the players have failed to deliver on the pitch.
