Chelsea fans thrilled as‘beyond amazing’deal agreed for Christopher Nkunku

After months of transfer speculation, Christopher Nkunku could be about to finally secure a move away from Chelsea.

Christopher Nkunku, 27, hasn’t been involved in Chelsea’s games so far this season because his future is being sorted out.

Chelsea have been confident of selling Nkunku this summer following two campaigns at Stamford Bridge where he’s struggled to find his best form. Finally, it looks like the French attacker will get his move in the final week of the transfer window.

It’s been reported this week that Italian giants AC Milan have almost agreed a five-year deal with Nkunku. His move to the San Siro has now intensified even further, though.

Chelsea and AC Milan agree Christopher Nkunku transfer

According to The Athletic, Chelsea and Milan have now reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of Nkunku this summer.

The report explains that a package of €42m (£36.2m) has been agreed, and there is also a sell-on clause included. Despite interest from Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig, the Blues forward now has permission to travel to Italy to secure a transfer move.

Nkunku is about to join former Chelsea players Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic and Fikayo Tomori in the Milan dressing room.

Inter Milan were sceptical about signing Nkunku this summer because of his injury record, but will that come back to bite them in the Milan derby?

Chelsea fans thrilled with Christopher Nkunku deal

Blues supporters on X agree that the club have pulled off another transfer masterstroke this summer with the deal they’ve negotiated for Nkunku’s exit. In particular, many have highlighted the brilliance of a sell-on clause.

One fan posted: “Wow, the way Chelsea now run transfer business is becoming too good to be real.”

“Sell-on clause again, wow,” another said.

One supporter commented: “Rivals will cry again for this masterpiece sale of Nkunku.”

“Recently we are killing it with the sell on clause… Every transfer has got sell-on clause. We are basically thinking about profit now and also about future. It’s a very good structure from Chelsea,” another added.

Back in 2023, Chelsea paid £52m (BBC) to sign Nkunku from RB Leipzig, where he had built a reputation as one of Europe’s most exciting attackers.

When you consider his mediocre spell in West London, the Blues sporting directors deserve real credit for selling him at such a high price. The sell-on clause is a tasty little bonus, too.
