Nottingham Forest have reportedly approached RB Leipzig over a deal to sign right-back Lutsharel Geertruida.
Sky Sports News claims Serie A outfit Atalanta BC are also interested in the 25-year-old and are another club who have approached Leipzig about a deal.
Geertruida is said to have several options to leave the Bundesliga and a possible loan move with an option to buy is currently being discussed with Forest.
The Netherlands international only joined Leipzig last summer from Feyenoord for around for around €20m, but the defender is now ‘dissatisfied’ and is open to a departure.
After failing to persuade Rico Lewis to leave Manchester City earlier this month, Geertruida is now believed to be one of four full-back options Forest are working on before next Monday’s transfer deadline along with Juventus’s Nicolo Savona and Sevilla’s Juan Angel Carmona.
Brentford's Kristoffer Ajer on September 14, 2024
One player who has been linked with an exit from the Premier League is Brentford defender Kristoffer Ajer, who is reportedly wanted by Wolfsburg.
However, Sky Germany reports that the Bees have rejected a bid worth an initial £11m, rising to a total of just under £13m (€15m), from the Bundesliga club.
Ajer has spent the last four years at Brentford since joining from Celtic for around £13.5m, making 96 appearances in all competitions including 24 Premier League outings last season.
The 27-year-old Norway international has started Brentford’s opening two Premier League games as a substitute, but he played the full 90 minutes in Tuesday’s 2-0 win at Bournemouth in the EFL Cup second round.
Having already seen Bryan Mbeumo, Christian Norgaard and Mark Flekken leave this summer - and Yoane Wissa could soon follow suit - Brentford are keen avoid losing more first-team players before the transfer window closes.
Chile's Marcelino Nunez on September 5, 2024
Nunez to end 24-year transfer hiatus between Norwich and Ipswich
Over in the Championship, Norwich City midfielder Marcelino Nunez is reportedly closing in on a shock move to East Anglian rivals Ipswich Town.
Sky Sports News claims that the 25-year-old is due to undergo a medical today ahead of finalising his £10m swich to Portman Road.
It is understood that Ipswich, who were relegated from the Premier League last season, will pay Norwich an initial £7.5m with £2.5m in add-ons.
Should the deal be completed before next Monday’s deadline, it will represent the first major transfer between the two clubs since goalkeeper Andy Marshall swapped the Canaries for the Tractor Boys back in 2001.
Chile international Nunez has spent the last three years at Norwich, recording 12 goals and 10 assists in 119 appearances across all competitions, including a goal in their EFL Cup first-round win over Watford earlier this month.
