The Boston Red Sox’s No. 1 prospect, Franklin Arias, shined last night in High-A.
Arias went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs in a 5-1 win for the Greenville Drive. Arias is now slashing .283/ .345/ .390 in 464 plate appearances between High-A and Single-A in 2025.
The 19-year-old shortstop from Caracas, Venezuela signed as an international free agent in January 2023 and quickly showcased his potential.
At just 17, Arias hit an impressive .350/.440/.453 over 37 games in in the Dominican Summer League, with 48 hits and solid plate discipline.
In 2024, Arias split time between the Florida Complex League and Single-A Salem. Overall that year, he compiled a .309 average, 25 doubles, nine homers and 35 stolen bases, establishing himself as a five-tool prospect. Arias is considered one of the best defensive players in the system.

Fast-forward to 2025, and Arias has continued his minor league dominance. Starting the season back in Single-A Salem, he hit .346/ .407/ .397 in 19 games before earning a promotion to High-A Greenville Drive.
Red Sox fans should keep a close eye on Arias, who might be ready for the big leagues sooner than expected.
