Real Oviedo are accelerating their efforts to sign defender David Carmo from Nottingham Forest before the end of the transfer window.
That’s [according to Marca](https://www.marca.com/futbol/oviedo/2025/08/27/oviedo-acelera-david-carmo-reforzar-defensa.html), who report that the Nottingham Forest centre-back fits the profile of player that the Spanish club are looking for to finalise their options for their defence.
They are determined to bring Carmo in from Nottingham Forest and are working to find the financial fit and finalise the deal. The most likely option is that the defender arrived on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.
The 26-year-old has been at Nottingham Forest since an €11m move last summer but was sent on loan to Olympiacos a day after the move was finalised. He is yet to make a single appearance for Nottingham Forest.
He does not appear to be a part of their plans and now Oviedo are looking to take advantage to help them to secure the defender that they want.
Their directors are currently crunching the numbers to make the deal fit their financial set up. The biggest issue is getting the defender into the salary cap and leaving them with space to sign a left-back and a striker to complete their squad.
That is perhaps why a loan deal with an option is being explored, although it remains to be seen whether Forest accept that.
