Chelsea set price to sell 19-year-old wonderkid amid AS Roma links, valuation gap remains

Chelsea reportedly remain firm on their €30 million asking price for Tyrique George amid strong interest from Serie A club AS Roma.

According to a report from TEAMtalk, AS Roma are keen on acquiring the services of Tyrique George, and they are in talks with Chelsea to sign the teenage attacking sensation. While the Serie A giants are quite serious about their pursuit, there is a significant difference in the valuation of both clubs.

George has been a part of the Chelsea setup since his childhood days. He went up the ranks at some pace and got promoted to the first team towards the end of 2024. Enzo Maresca was quite impressed with his performances at the youth level and training; as a result, the teenager was used in 26 matches last season. He ended up contributing towards eight goals.

The Englishman’s performances suggest he has a bright future ahead, and people at Stamford Bridge are well aware of his massive potential, but they still seem open to selling the 19-year-old. Having signed Liam Delap, Joao Pedro, Estevao and Jamie Gittens in the summer, Chelsea cannot guarantee George an important first-team role.

AS Roma pushing for George’s signature

The Blues are ready to sanction his departure amidst interest from several top clubs. Chelsea are not open to a loan move and would only consider a permanent transfer. The West London club have set an asking price of €30 million for Tyrique George, who is high on AS Roma’s wishlist.

The Serie A giants are very keen on signing George and have been in talks with Chelsea for some time. While negotiations continue, there remains a significant gap in valuation. Roma are unwilling to go beyond €23–24 million for the 19-year-old, who has just 26 first-team appearances, while the Blues continue to hold out for €30 million.

Tyrique George wants AS Roma move

With two years still left on his contract, Chelsea are not under pressure to sell. However, the player is keen on joining AS Roma, which could work in the Serie A side’s favour. According to a report from Graeme Bailey on TBR Football, George has decided to leave Stamford Bridge in search of a prominent role and would love to join Roma.

While several top clubs are interested, Tyrique George has been impressed by his talks with Roma and has decided he wants to join them before the end of the window. With the player pushing for a move, it remains to be seen whether Chelsea lowers their demands. If they do, they are expected to insist on a significant sell-on clause.
