Xavi Simmons and Chelsea are standing at the edge
More than a month has passed Chelsea trying to pursue Xavi Simons. The Blues first began club-to-club negotiations with RB Leipzig in order to recruit Xavi Simons. In terms of transfers, this has definitely been a slow burner, which is uncommon in modern football, especially when it comes to Chelsea. The Blues have been attempting to sell unwanted players to create room for Simons and from a financial standpoint, which has made discussions difficult. With comprehensive personal terms deal currently in place and the Netherlands international’s strong desire to transfer to Stamford Bridge. The deal can be sealed within the blink of an eye.
Chelsea running out of time.
There is still a tonne of work for Chelsea to accomplish as we enter the last week of the summer transfer window. While the Blues have been quite busy on the departure front, a total of eight players have arrived at Stamford Bridge this summer, three of whom have been loaned out. During the window, the club has authorised 14 departures in total, most of them are permanent departures. Crucially, Chelsea has told the 22-year-old former Barcelona and PSG player that they won’t finalise a move for him until a player goes the other way. Leipzig has given offers for three players: Axel Disasi, Christopher Nkunku and Carney Chukwuemeka.

Chelsea making a super squad
Xavi has been tagged by a staggering €70 million, while he has reached an agreement over personal terms with Chelsea. If Xavi makes it to the club which he, will it would a complete midfield for Chelsea after a long time. Negotiations with Manchester United over the signing of Alejandro Garnacho are forwarding. Bayern recently made an approach to try and sign the Argentine international, but Garnacho made it clear that he only wants to join Chelsea. The Argentine now waits patiently for Chelsea and Man United to reach an agreement. This results in a numerous option in the midfield as well as forward section for Chelsea. This season the Blues are looking scary with these world class talents.
Chelsea might release 8 players from their squad in order to clear up space
Before the transfer deadline, at least eight players may be leaving the team. Borussia Dortmund is getting closer to signing Aaron Anselmino and Carney Chukwuemeka. There are Premier League and international suitors for Axel Disasi, but there has been little progress on the Frenchman leaving Stamford Bridge. Ben Chilwell, still trains at Cobham away from the first team and hopes to play for someone other than the Blues Raheem Sterling in the future, is in a similar situation. Fulham wants the 30-year-old winger, although money might be a problem. Alfie Gilchrist is reportedly eager to leave the team permanently this summer. Newcastle United and Aston Villa are both big fans of Jackson, but Unai Emery’s team must sell before they can acquire any other player. A deal is there for Nkunku by Bayern Munich but the Germans wants him as a loan, but Chelsea wanted to solve the problem permanently.
Author’s Opinion
As a true football fan, I would recommend that Chelsea should only sign Xavi Simmons and stay out from the Garnacho transfer as Xavi is an exceptional player, and he has proved himself on the international stage as well which is not the case for Garnacho. From the POV of maturity and experience Xavi is far better for me and he could change the playstyle of the Blues alongside with Caicedo, Palmer and Pedro Neto. Above all Chelsea is building a team every club dream and hope it shows desired results for this season.
