Nottingham Forest have joined the race for Sassuolo's sought-after defender Josh Doig, according to reports.
The Scotland international, who plays as a left-back or left wing-back out in Italy, is said to be attracting interest from a number of suitors across Europe, namely Juventus who the Reds are reportedly negotiating with for Nicolò Savona.
Now, as claimed by The Sun, the Reds have thrown their hat in the ring and apparently 'contact' has been made with the player's representatives.
It is believed Forest are desperately looking to add some competition for full-backs Neco Williams and Ola Aina with a packed schedule ahead of them thanks to qualifying for the Europa League last season.
The report states Doig is one name on a list that also contains Leicester City's Victor Kristiansen, and Joaquin Seys from Club Brugge in Belgium.
At just 23-years-old, Doig played an instrumental role in Sassuolo's promotion last time out, playing 29 times while scoring and assisting once.

Such form has piqued interest in his services with the Old Lady being the biggest name, but the prospect of playing more regular football — thanks to Europe — could be enough to tempt the player with a move to the City Ground.
Doig, who has been capped once for Scotland, left Hibernian in the summer of 2023, spending 18 months with Hellas Verona before making the switch to the Neroverdi last January.
He played 81 minutes of Sassuolo's first game back in the Serie A last weekend, where they were defeated by reigning Scudetto champions Napoli, as former Manchester United and Manchester City stars Scott McTominay and Kevin de Bruyne netted the important goals to seal a 2-0 win.
It remains unclear what fee will be demanded for Doig, but according to Transfermarkt, the player is valued at around £4.3 million.
