Newcastle United are running out of time to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen from Wolves.
The Norwegian striker is Newcastle United’s top target right now, as they aim to replace Callum Wilson.
However, that is proving to be difficult. Newcastle have had two bids rejected for the 25-year-old, with their most recent offer worth £55million.
Wolves want to keep Strand Larsen, having already sold Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri this summer. They do not want to contemplate another major departure, but the Magpies are putting them under pressure.
That pressure is set to continue, as deadline day looms.

Newcastle United not put off by Wolves’ Jorgen Strand Larsen stance
Transfer expert Graeme Bailey has exclusively spoken to Geordie Boot Boys about Newcastle United’s interest in Strand Larsen.
He has stated that a third offer is set to be made, despite Wolves’ insistence that their number nine is not for sale.
“Newcastle have not given up on Jorgen Strand Larsen and they know the player wants to join them,” he said.

“But as we have seen with the striker market this summer, that doesn’t always get a deal done.
“Wolves are standing firm but they do have a price. Newcastle are set to return with another bid.
“There are really not too many options emerging for Newcastle now.”
Newcastle United have been in this situation before as Jorgen Strand Larsen eyes Toon move
In a summer in which Newcastle have missed out on plenty of targets, it is encouraging to hear that a player like Strand Larsen actually wants to move to Tyneside.
He is keen to become a part of the Newcastle United squad, and Toon officials are still working hard to try and make that a reality.
However, the issue is that Wolves are currently not a willing seller. It is a situation that Newcastle are all too familiar with, having endured the exact same problem with Brentford and Yoane Wissa.
Wissa is desperate to join Newcastle. He has been for a long time, and the expectation has been that he would arrive at St James’ Park.
Alas, the deal has stalled. Brentford are not selling Wissa without a replacement, despite his clear desire to head to the North East.
Strand Larsen has that same desire, but may also be denied his wish.
That presents a major problem for Newcastle United, who desperately need to sign a striker before 7pm on 1st September. Not getting one would be an absolute disaster for Eddie Howe.
