Our weekly early team news summary rounds up all the latest Gameweek 3 injury news ahead of the pre-match press conferences on Friday.
There are snapshots from 16 clubs in the article below.
For the four teams whose managers have already faced the media, check out [Thursday’s presser round-up](https://www.fantasyfootballscout.co.uk/2025/08/28/fpl-gameweek-3-team-news-thursdays-live-injury-updates(opens in a new tab)).
ARSENAL
Reports suggest that Bukayo Saka (hamstring) will be out for around four weeks, which obviously rules him out of the Gameweek 3 clash with Liverpool.
However, there are more positive noises on the prospects of Martin Odegaard (shoulder) recovering to face the Reds.
Kai Havertz (knee) and Gabriel Jesus (knee) remain out, while the absence of Christian Norgaard (unknown) and Ben White (unknown) from midweek training images renders them ongoing doubts – although Arsenal have been known to be a bit sneaky and selective regarding who their on-site photographer snaps.
ASTON VILLA
Ezri Konsa is back after serving a one-match ban in the defeat to Brentford.
The Villans look set to be without Boubacar Kamara, however, with reports suggesting he’ll be out for 2-3 weeks after picking up a hamstring injury last weekend.
Ross Barkley and Andres Garcia haven’t been seen since mid-July with unknown issues.
BOURNEMOUTH
Lewis Cook (knee) is no longer suspended but he remains injured for this weekend’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur.
Enes Unal, meanwhile, is still recovering from a knee injury sustained in January.
Julian Araujo serves a one-match ban after being sent off for two bookable offences in the midweek cup defeat to Brentford.
CHELSEA
As we discussed in an article earlier this week, the groin issue that forced Cole Palmer out of the starting XI last Friday isn’t thought to be as serious as first feared.
Nevertheless, the Fulham game may come too soon and Sky reported on Tuesday that he wasn’t training with the squad, instead working on his rehab indoors.
Elsewhere, Mykhailo Mudryk remains suspended, while Levi Colwill is out long term with a knee injury.
Benoit Badiashile and Romeo Lavia are still sidelined, too. Neither player has featured since the FIFA Club World Cup.
Nicolas Jackson, Christopher Nkunku, Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling remain surplus to requirements and likely won’t feature again. Nkunku, indeed, seems to be on the cusp of a move to AC Milan.
CRYSTAL PALACE
Daichi Kamada (knee) is back for Thursday’s UEFA Conference League clash with Fredrikstad.
Will Hughes (unknown) and Odsonne Edouard (Achilles) will miss the trip to Norway, however.
Chadi Riad (knee), Cheick Doucoure (knee), Eddie Nketiah (hamstring) and Caleb Kporha (back) remain out, too.
Marc Guehi remains a Palace player for now and is in the Conference League squad.
EVERTON
Vitalii Mykolenko (groin) returned to the Everton squad for the midweek win over Mansfield Town.
Jarrad Branthwaite (hamstring) and Nathan Patterson (hernia symptoms) remained out, however.
Adam Aznou was back in training late last week, having missed out in Gameweek 1, but he didn’t feature in the victories over Brighton or Mansfield.
FULHAM
Harry Wilson was a casualty of the midweek cup win over Bristol City, coming off after 64 minutes with a foot injury.
Marco Silva says assessment to follow in the coming days, with fears heightened because it was the same foot that he injured badly last season.
LIVERPOOL
As revealed last week, Jeremie Frimpong will be out until after the international break with a hamstring injury he picked up in Gameweek 1.
Conor Bradley returned from his own muscle issue to make the bench at Newcastle on Monday night, however.
Alexis Mac Allister missed the final match of Gameweek 2, with Arne Slot saying afterwards that the midfielder had to pull out of training two days before the game. Slot was hopeful of his recovery for the Arsenal match, however.
MANCHESTER CITY
There’s some potentially positive news emerging on Rayan Ait-Nouri (ankle).
The left-back, who limped out of the Spurs game last weekend, has been named in the Algeria squad for the September internationals, with his national team coach saying that not only was Ait-Nouri’s injury not serious but that he could even feature in Gameweek 3.
Savinho (unknown), Mateo Kovacic (Achilles), Marcus Bettinelli (unknown) and Josko Gvardiol (unknown) were sidelined for last Sunday’s game, with further updates awaited on those.
There are suggestions that Gvardiol will miss Croatia’s upcoming international fixtures, which obviously wouldn’t bode well for Gameweek 3.
MANCHESTER UNITED
Lisandro Martinez (knee) and Noussair Mazraoui (unknown) are the only United absentees that we know of at present.
NEWCASTLE UNITED
Newcastle briefly had a fully fit squad on Monday night but they could be without four of their starting XI from the narrow defeat to Liverpool.
Anthony Gordon is definitely out: he begins a three-match ban for serious foul play after his dismissal in Gameweek 2.
It looks as if Fabian Schar will miss out with a concussion, too.
Sandro Tonali injured his shoulder in the second half of the Liverpool game, while Joelinton seemed to be holding his thigh when limping off – but those two might have escaped serious injury based on subsequent reports.
Barring a miracle make-up with the Magpies, the wantaway Alexander Isak will again sit this one out.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST
Nicolas Dominguez will be out until the autumn after undergoing knee surgery over the summer.
Other than that, we think Forest continue to have a fully fit squad.
SUNDERLAND
Aji Alese (shoulder), Luke O’Nien (shoulder), Dennis Cirkin (wrist) and Leo Hjelde (Achilles) remain absent until at least Gameweek 4.
Romaine Mundle is currently sidelined with a hamstring issue until October, too.
Dan Ballard (groin) was added to the injury list last Saturday and has now been ruled out for 2-3 weeks.
Niall Huggins is a fresh concern from Tuesday’s EFL Cup tie with Huddersfield Town, having felt “discomfort in his groin”.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR
Destiny Udogie (knee) should be nearing a comeback based on Thomas Frank’s last update. He had already trained twice before Gameweek 2 but wasn’t involved due to match fitness.
Koto Takai (foot) is reportedly training again, too.
Radu Dragusin (knee), James Maddison (knee) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee) definitely remain out, while Yves Bissouma has been sidelined in the opening two Gameweeks with little detail provided on his issue.
WEST HAM UNITED
Luis Guilherme (collarbone) and Crysencio Summerville (hamstring) remain on the injury list.
George Earthy (ankle) returned to training last week but wasn’t involved in Gameweek 2 or Tuesday’s EFL Cup defeat at Molineux.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS
Jorgen Stand Larsen shrugged off weekend talk of a tight Achilles by scoring twice in that aforementioned win over the Hammers.
Ki-Jana Hoever (knee) missed the EFL Cup victory but Vitor Pereira says he has avoided serious injury.
Wolves have only one other issue that we’re aware of: Leon Chiwome is still recovering from a knee injury sustained in January.
