Sources: How close Victor Kristiansen is to joining Nottingham Forest amid Sangare and Bakwa updates

Nottingham Forest are still looking at doing a number of deals before Monday’s transfer deadline, TBR Football understands.

Forest have had another active summer in the transfer market, bringing in the likes of James McAtee, Omari Hutchinson, Dan Ndoye and Douglas Luiz.

Anthony Elanga, Danilo, and Ramon Sosa have left, while Morgan Gibbs-White has stayed after strong links to both Manchester City and Tottenham.

After securing a loan move for former Aston Villa midfielder Luiz, TBR Football understood that Forest still want two more signings – a winger and a full-back – before Monday’s transfer deadline.

Nottingham Forest talks over Victor Kristiansen progressing with Leicester

TBR Football’s chief correspondent, Graeme Bailey, understands that Forest have asked about full-backs Victor Kristiansen of Leicester, Celta Vigo’s Oscar Mingueza, Sevilla’s Jose Angel Carmona and Nicolo Savona of Juventus.

Bailey says: “Forest are still in the market for a fullback. They’ve got a few options, and they’re hoping to get one nailed down soon. To be fair, they’re talking to quite a handful of players.

“They have asked about Kristiansen, Mingueza, Carmona and Savona, however, we understand that talks with Leicester and Kristiansen are progressing.”

Kristiansen joined Leicester in 2023, spending a season out on loan before making 31 appearances last season, and 45 in total for the Foxes.

Nottingham Forest continuing Dilane Bakwa talks and make decision on Ibrahim Sangare

TBR Football also understand that Forest are ‘hopeful’ of signing Strasbourg’s Dilane Bakwa, which could have a knock-on effect on the future of Jota Silva.

Bailey says: “Forest are continuing talks over Dilane Bakwa, the Strasbourg boy. We’re pretty hopeful about getting him in. Bringing him in has a knock-on effect for Jota Silva, who Sporting have been looking at all summer.

“They’ll probably let him go out on loan, even if they didn’t initially want to, because the squad’s being upgraded.”

Meanwhile, Bailey adds that Forest are ‘considering’ allowing midfielder Ibrahim Sangare to depart the City Ground, with West Ham asking about a potential loan move.

“I am told from Forest this one is not moving yet – but West Ham are interested,” he said. “Obviously, Douglas Luiz has come in, so it might not be easy to get everything done, but they’re still active.”
