The longtime Lithuanian national team and EuroLeague guard will work alongside Sergio Rodriguez, assisting in major personnel and basketball operations decisions.

For Pocius, the shift marks a transition from nearly a decade in the NBA to one of the most titled organizations in European basketball. Real Madrid has captured 11 EuroLeague championships — the most in competition history — cementing its reputation as the continent’s ultimate powerhouse.
The new role offers Pocius the chance to bring his NBA and international experience into shaping one of Europe’s most decorated clubs.
A Duke University graduate, Pocius spent the past eight years with the Denver Nuggets, most recently serving as Assistant Director of Pro Personnel.
His tenure in Denver culminated in the franchise's 2023 NBA Championship, where he contributed to scouting and roster evaluation at both the NBA and international levels.
As a player, Pocius suited up for Real Madrid from 2011 to 2013, winning the 2012 Copa del Rey, the 2012 Supercopa, and the 2013 ACB title.
He was warmly welcomed back by local fans when he attended a recent Madrid game, receiving applause after being shown on the big screen.

Widely respected for his playing career, deep basketball network, and cross-continental knowledge of the game, Pocius is expected to play an important role in Madrid’s evolving front office structure.
